In 1962, the Hans Merensky Trust donated the grounds of the club to Tzaneen area locals, to develop a nine hole golf course. In 1964 the second nine was developed and is today known as our back nine. The front nine has long escalating and curving fairways, giving the long drivers a chance to show their mettle. The back nine boasts tricky slopes and angles, giving the game a bit more edge. The course has a wide variety of trees indigenous to South Africa, all planted strategically, giving the course a picturesque beauty, with towering green mountains as a backdrop.
